Prof. Dr. Javad Parvazi
Continuing his education in the United States, Dr Parvazi completed his specialist training in orthopaedic surgery at the Mayo Clinic between 1997 and 2002; during this period, he obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Orthopaedics from the Mayo Foundation. Between 2002 and 2003, he successfully completed a fellowship in adult reconstruction at the Hip Society-Muller Foundation in Bern, Switzerland.
Dr Parvazi, who spent a significant part of his academic and clinical career at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, held the positions of Associate Professor and Professor at this institution between 2003 and 2023. With over 30 years’ experience in orthopaedic surgery, Prof. Dr. Parvazi has performed more than 10,000 joint replacements, over 2,000 hip joint preservation surgeries and more than 1,000 revision surgeries for infections throughout his career.

Dr. Parvizi has authored over 30 textbooks. These foundational works are used globally to train surgeons and medical students in advanced surgical techniques.

Dr. Parvizi has received numerous international honors, including a 2025 Honorary Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He also has honorary memberships and visiting professorships at leading global institutions in Hungary and China.
